Bioparco di Roma began as a zoological garden in the early 1900s and has since grown into a modern wildlife park dedicated to conservation. (Demo content.)

From zoological garden to Bioparco

The story began in the early twentieth century with a then-innovative idea: habitats separated by moats and woven into the landscape. Over time, the focus shifted from display to care, knowledge and species protection.

Architecture, trees and memory

Paths, historic buildings and mature trees reveal different eras. A visit crosses a corner of Villa Borghese while showing how the relationship between people, animals and nature has evolved.
